Most of the commissions crafted at Fairlie Furniture come from individual customers looking for something special for their home. However, we also produce individual pieces and ranges for commercial customers.
Each commission we undertake is designed with care, and made with pride.
With a solid reputation in making furniture for hotels, restaurants and retail, our bespoke service at Fairlie furniture may be exactly what you need to get the right product and achieve the perfect interior.
The process of commissioning a piece of furniture is not as daunting as it may sound. You donβt need any experience in design or working with wood. We listen carefully, questioning just enough to get a full understanding of what you are looking for.
We do this every day and may not involve more than a 10 minute discussion with furniture designer Kenny. Customers are always welcome to look round or showroom for inspiration or to email with their ideas or images showing what inspires you.
The quality of workmanship was outstanding and the very personal customer service made the whole process a real pleasure.
Margaret and David, Ayr
For the business commissions we work with shopfitters, architects and interior designer creating quality furniture both large and small . Using our knowledge and experience in manufacturing we guide concepts to the finished product, tailoring designs and advising on materials and finishes.
We have experience in delivering quality products on time and on budget adding real value to any project.
We often work at an early project stage forming ideas into designs before manufacture and installation. Occasionally we're involved at a last minute stage, custom making to tight deadlines to ensure interiors are complete and customers happy.
The quality of the design and the craftsmanship of the products is exceptional.
Kenny and his team delivered exactly on-time and at highly competitive prices, and we now have totally bespoke and high quality crafted furniture made with incredible care and attention to detail, at a cost similar to mass produced products.
We are very proud of our new facility, and the furniture made by Kenny and his team in Fairlie make the building a very special place.
Jeremy Hamilton, Director of the Clyde Coast & Garnock Valley Crematorium.
The length of time spent preparing and measuring will be dependent on the complexity of the job;
Kenny can quickly translate your ideas into a couple of sketches. Along with a few dimensions, this forms the basis for a quote on your ideal furniture.
We can often suggest a range of options and suggest alternatives which save on manufacturing time or materials, and present you a range of prices.
For larger commissions there may need to be some on-site measuring or some more detailed drawings to confirm exactly what is to be made.
We can also make samples boards to show materials and finishes to help with decisions.
Once you are happy with the specification and quote, its over to the workshop.
Our skilled craftsmen cut, saw, plane, dress, mould, glue, join, turn, sand, sand some more, finish and transform the sketches into reality. With stunning results.
Lead designer and furniture maker Kenny is happy to discuss design, manufacture, materials and price options. Let us help you realise that perfect piece of custom furniture.
