Some keywords from initial discussions could be : friendly, contemporary, classic, modern, rustic, shaker, clean, characterful, clinical, country and many more. This helps us get an idea of what you are imagining and allows us to give you a range of options in terms of materials, finishes and prices before specifying the design.
The initial process needn’t take an age and doesn’t require any experience of design. It could just be a 30 minute discussion with one of our team in our showroom and workshop. Or an email with some images you like.
Each kitchen is customised from start to finish in our workshops, we are not constrained by standard carcass dimensions. Islands, pantries and breakfast bars can be made as stand alone features where incorporating more than one style is desired.
We often work with architects and interior designers to create perfect kitchens that are practical, inspirational and within budget.
We were absolutely thrilled by the kitchen designed and manufactured by Fairlie Furniture. We wanted a contemporary, farmhouse look which Kenny and his team lovingly produced. The quality of workmanship was outstanding and the very personal customer service made the whole process a real pleasure.

There are so many variables and materials that can be used larger furniture commissions like kitchens that putting an exact spec on the website is difficult. Here is one of our most popular specifications;
Carcasses are made from Egger board MFC or an oak veneered plywood core. Each carcass is designed for strength and durability and is assembled fully in our workshop.
All panels are cut on our cnc machine for production accuracy. We then glue and screw the carcass together with dowel joints to ensure they last. Hardwearing and robust construction are the key elements to our kitchen cabinets.
Drawer boxes made from solid oak with dovetail construction and a lacquered finish. Soft close, full extension drawer slides, with push to open option for contemporary style kitchens without handles.
Worktops made from wide boards of timber are planked, glued and shaped. Occasionally using character timber with Knots and features or natural edges for something really unique. We also produce a range of composite worktops that are both beautifully finished and practical surfaces.
